Celebrate Our Staff Tigers of the Month!
October 2020: Mrs. Madeline Boyd!
Congratulations Mrs. Boyd! When we returned to this school year, I had no idea the level of ROCKSTAR ability that Mrs. Boyd is!! The Related Arts Department has been making phone calls to families of students consistently absent. Mrs. Boyd has been consistently calling, not just the 6th grade students, but also all of her students and any other students she sees on the tracker missing. She has supported her team and the building in any way possible. Her approach to the “post-Covid” school year has been both optimistic and positive. She consistently seeks out opportunities to help any member of Long and support all students of Long. With only one year under her belt of teaching and instruction, Mrs. Boyd is demonstrating daily that teaching and learning are both a personal passion and mission, and that teaching goes beyond the classroom. Thank you Mrs. Boyd for your dedication!
September 2020: Mrs. LeQuita Pang!
Congratulations Mrs. Pang! Mrs. Pang has been working diligently since coming onboard at Long to create Community Room and Community Program to support our students and families. In September, Long was recognized for their partnership with St. Louis FoodBank and Fresh Thyme Markets within our “Tigers Den.” Weekly, Mrs. Pang delivers and provides food and household items to new and current families. During the onset of the COVID pandemic, Mrs. Pang delivered food after and before hours to our families on both the north and south sides of St. Louis. She consistently visits our families who are unable to come to school providing them communication, instructional supplies, household items, and food. Our family support has never been stronger. Her warm and upbeat voice brings a smile to everyone’s face and her peace quotes of inspiration have been right on time for many of us. Mrs. Pang is a walking representation what it means to be a LIMS Tiger!

July 22, 2020
The beginning of a new school year is upon us! Part of my mission at Long is to ensure that everyone is safe and nurtured within our walls, as well as educated. On Monday, July 20, 2020, you should have received an email from our superintendent, Dr. Adams. The email came with a letter regarding instructional options for your student(s) the school year currently set to begin August 24, 2020. Please complete the District’s 2020-2021 Parent Commitment Form (weightlossjase.com/SY20-21). If you have previously supplied your email address to the District, you will receive a notification that provides demographic information to be used on the Parent Commitment Form. Please check your email account for detailed information. If you have not previously provided an email address, you can contact Tech support at email@example.com; they can provide the needed information electronically. Additionally, you can call 314.345.5656 and someone will be able to assist. If you have more than one SLPS student in your family, please fill out one form for each child. This is not a survey. The district will base our planning around this information, so your input is critical. The deadline to complete the form(s) is midnight on Thursday, July 30, 2020. Nightly, results for each school are compiled and reviewed by the building leadership team and the district leadership team. Long Interntional Middle School has a team of teachers and leadership members that aremaking personalized phone calls to parent to assist with completing the form.
A Robocall is scheduled for today, Wednesday, July 22, 2020, with this information as well. Feel free to visit the school's website (http://weightlossjase.com/long) to assess the link and additional resources. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
