    Please use the link below to access academic resources and assignments for students looking to improve their grade in any class. The folders are organized by teacher and then by class. You can view and download any document. Please reach out to your teacher or another staff member if you have any specific questions about the assignments, or if we can support you in any way.

    Student Technology Pickup

    Please plan on driving up during the below listed times to obtain your student's laptop to be utilized during virtual instruction.

    Please complete the Sumner High School Online Registration before arriving.  It consists of THREE forms:

    All forms must be completed. If you are unable to complete this registration before arriving,computers will be available for you to do so, but it will expedite the process if this form is already completed. 

    Please NOTE: The following documents should be brought with you to registration.

    • Shot Record
    • Proof of Residence (utility bill, lease in parent's name, etc.)
    • Birth Certificate (if new to school and/or district)

    Technology Pickup Schedule

    We will continue registration in the rear of the building (door #10)-making sure we limit access to the rest of the building due to COVID. All families will continue to register online prior to picking up technology. If they do not have technology, they can use computers at the school site. 

    • Wednesday 9am-12pm

    Welcome to Charles Sumner High School!
    Dear Sumner High School Students and Parents:

    I am excited for another year at Sumner High School community (SHS). SHS offers a challenging academic program, outstanding co-curricular and extracurricular programs, and some exciting school-sponsored events throughout the school year. I feel honored to serve as the instructional leader of the school and look forward to working with the SHS community to provide extraordinary learning experiences for our students. Successful organizations require the conjunction of three elements: Relationships, Communication, and Collective Identity. My leadership this year will focus on these three elements as they apply to school improvement. Together, we will make a great school even better!

    The school community has some important work ahead of us this year. During the last week of August, SHS is conducting professional development around virtual learning, culturally responsive pedagogy/teaching, and changing mindsets. This professional development will lay the foundation for our work in these areas. Community, district, and national experts will be collaborating with us continuously to ensure that we have the support to be the best high school for our families. Throughout the year, we will continue to review our processes in our school organization, curriculum, instruction, assessment, accountability, school culture and student support. Students and parents play an integral role in the development of our school community to ensure that students get what they need. Additional time this year will be spent on working toward integrating a variety learning methods and implementing our school’s accountability plan to support of student achievement. You will be learning more about this work throughout the school year.

    This year promises to be full of great accomplishments and exciting progress for our students and our school.     New Vaccination Required! Before our 7th grade and 11th grade students start 8th and 12th grade (respectively) in 2017-2018, they must receive a vaccine against meningitis, an infection of the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. 

     

    Students entering 8th grade must also receive the Tdap vaccine, so parents can get them done during the same visit to the doctor. If your student going into the 12th grade received the first meningitis immunization at age 16 or later, a second one will not be needed. Otherwise, two are required for 12th grade students. Please have this immunization done as soon as possible, and make sure your School Nurse receives a copy. Please contact your School Nurse or the Nurse Coordinator at 314-345-4401 for questions.
